Cat Care: How to Take Care of a Himalayan Cat

One of the most popular kind of cat is the Himalayan cat. So when you decide to adopt or buy a Himalayan cat, you should also know the proper cat care. Himalayan cats are known for their pushed in nose and they have really long coat. As an owner, you should regularly have your cat checked by a vet for parasites and ailments. Putting them also in a nutritional diet will help prevent diseases as they grow old. Also, maintaining a clean litter will prevent parasites from living in your cat, externally and internally.

Since Himalayan cats have a long coat the proper cat care for this one is to regularly brush it. There may also be hair growth near the eyes of the Himalayan cat because of the nose being too near the eyes so brush the hair away from the cat’s eyes. Also, use a wash cloth to clean the area around the eyes of the cat especially when they just woke up.

Cats can be very sensitive at times and can easily acquire other ailments or parasites from other cats. So make sure that you do not let your cat play with stray cats or if you have another cat and sick, make sure to isolate him. Cats affected with cold can easily affect other cats, so at the first sign of cold take your cat immediately to the vet clinic. Sometimes simple cat illness can lead to serious ones.

Especially when they need treatment and it will take hours, sedating them is the best way to do it. Strapping them is another way but it is also too harsh in a way. Also, the animals can get hurt when they are strapped.

Animals are very territorial they do not want their homes to be touched and when it does they get very defensive. The funniest thing about our pets is when they act crazy and end up being funny. Just like this cat in the video, it seems like he is enjoying a back rub. So it sounds like he is talking gibberish. You might think that he is in a lot of pain, sick or something like that but these things happen with cats and are very normal. No need to be bothered about anything. It is sad when animals are mistreated and left behind by their owners. Just like Goliath here who was found near a trash eating anything that he considers cat food. We are also thankful that there are still a lot of people who cares for these animals. They may not complain when they are bitten or left without water or food but they have all the rights to live just like us. And just look at Goliath now, well taken care of and definitely stands up to his name, he’s so huge! He cannot barely walk because of his fatness and it is obvious that he cleans out his dish. But even so, it is better to see a cat like this than a cat so thin and flies all over.

Itching for a Butt Scratch

Our cat’s scratching abilities are no match to ours. They can reach every itchy part of their body without needing help. But of course, as lovable owners we also want them to feel good by scratching their bellies and when we do this they instantly roll-over to their back.
